Description: Measuring and comparing performance, cost, and other features of advanced communication architectures for complex multi core/multiprocessor systems on chip is a significant challenge which has hardly been addressed so far. An OCP-IP supported working group has started to define a benchmark suite for NoCs. It will be a challenge to find broad acceptance among both academic researchers and industrial developers for such a benchmark initiative due to a very diverse set of different objectives and requirements. The panel will discuss the best composition and setup of the benchmark suite. It will debate ways to gather support for developing and using it and potential challenges and obstacles for a broad acceptance will be taken up.
